Beltline Courtesy & Etiquette
How to move, ride, walk, and enjoy the Beltline with respect, safety, and flow.
Core Courtesy Rules
Walking traffic should always stay to the right side of the trail.
This keeps the center lane open for wheels and passing.
Think of it like a sidewalk: the **man walks on the “street side”**, which on the Beltline means the **middle lane**.
Bikes, skaters, scooters, and boards should use the **center lane** to pass.
Call out “On your left!” when passing.
Slow down around crowds, kids, dogs, and strollers.
The Beltline works because everyone moves with awareness.
Don’t block the trail. Don’t stop in the middle. Step aside if you need to pause.
We’re all here to enjoy the same space.
Safety & Awareness
Stay aware of your surroundings.
Stick to well‑lit areas.
Move with a group when possible.
Know your nearest emergency pole number.
Trust your instincts — if something feels off, move away.
Say excuse me. Smile. Share the space.
Don’t blast music without headphones.
Don’t film people without permission.
We’re all out here to have a good time.
